James Duffer the Musician

Today is my friend James's Birthday!

It just so happens that his drawing request is next in line. He had simply requested himself playing on a piano, but I decided to go full out and draw him at a sold out concert.

Now, normally there would be a band accompanying James on stage, but people are really hard to draw, let alone playing instruments. James Duffer is an up-and-coming musician in the Dallas-Fort Worth are. He specializes in a soft rock type music and takes a lot of pride in his work, which you can tell by listening to his album. In fact, you can check out some of Jame's music on his Facebook Page and you can also listen to his entire new album, Midtown Odyssey, on his Soundcloud Page

I had a lot of fun drawing this picture for James. I'm pretty proud of how much like a person he looks, even though the stool he is sitting on is not much of a realistic stool. The piano was probably the next hardest thing to draw after James. They're awkward and have strange shapes. It's really frustrating sometimes when you know exactly what a piano looks like, after taken lessons for many years, but not being able to correctly draw one due to the limits of dexterity and patience. However, I'm really happy with it!

Be sure to go like James' Facebook page and check out his album, Midtown Odyssey, out now on Amazon, iTunes, and Bandcamp

In other news:

I haven't gotten any requests in. Jame's was my last official request for the blog. So, my dear readers, it is up to you to call on your friends to send in their drawing requests. If not, then my blog will have to come to an abrupt end. I enjoy my blog, and I enjoy drawing for you, but only you can keep this blog running. You can spread the word of my blog by sharing my Facebook Page, commenting below, Tweeting me @MSPaintAtWork, or by email at MsPaintAtWork@gmail.com. So, go forth and spread the drawings of MS Paint at Work across the realm of the internet so that I may continue my endeavors and so you may continue to be entertained.

Honey Playing Balloon Tennis

She's pretty amazing at it!

As many of you know, family is extremely important to me. My great Aunt Pat, also known as Honey, recently had back surgery. She has been on the road to recovery by attending physical therapy. She has continually gotten stronger, which is no surprise to anyone who truly knows her. When I received her request, I was truly honored to be drawing a picture for her! It took me a long time to finally get around to draw the picture, but I'm pretty proud of the results.

Honey requested for a picture of her playing balloon tennis with her physical therapist. I'll have you know drawing people playing tennis is a true challenge. People drawing is pretty hard to begin with but I feel like I did a pretty good job.

Honey has just had another great round of balloon tennis, winning 3-1 in the final round! Her physical therapist, in the green shirt with the dark hair, could not have been more proud and jumped in the air with excitement. Aunt Pat is ecstatic, knowing that one day she will be strong enough to play balloon tennis without her supportive Ninja back vest, pictured on Honey.

I'm so proud of my Aunt Pat for making such a strong recovery. She is truly an inspiration and a wonderful person to look up to.

That's all for today! If you have a drawing request, please feel free to comment below, send it to us on our Facebook Page, Tweet it to us, or Tumblr (is that really a verb?) it to us! Until next time. - Sarah.

Tap Dancing Pink Giraffes

This Giraffe can do it all!

This amazing giraffe was suggested by my sister, Lauren, who has made the wonderful suggestion of the Penguin and the Balloon Stand. This newest creations is one of my favorites and was a more challenging drawing. Giraffes are difficult to draw, let alone tap dancing. I was originally going to draw the giraffe tap dancing on all four legs, but it's really hard to make a tuxedo look right when the front of it is facing the ground, so standing giraffe it is.

This Giraffe, named Felix, was part of the wonderful Zoological Academy of Dance in the North American Region, aka ZADNAR. The ZADNAR hosts a yearly recital featuring their best dancing animals. Felix was the star of the show, with his tap dancing abilities, second only to the ballerina hippos that were previously featured in the major motion picture, Fantasia! Felix is very insecure about his feminine color and wanted to balance that out with his blue cummerbund, tie, and cane. He knows that society understands his plights and realizes that pink should no longer be a gender specific color!

Be sure to send in your requests! I feel like my blog isn't getting a lot of traffic, so if you have to time and the resources, please take the time to go like MS Paint at Work on their Facebook Page, follow us on Twitter, and follow us on Tumblr. Until next time.

Rogaine Foam Contemplations

Meditation and hair, or a lack of it!

This image was requested by the ever talented, Mike! Mike is from Texas and is a dear friend of mine. We have known each other since high school and I know that I can always count on Mike if I ever need anything. This particular old man is a well revered taekwondo master and is currently practicing his meditation, like he does ever morning, to prepare his students to take the taekwondo oath.

During his meditations, he often reflects back on his life before he lost his hair, as male patterned baldness is very prevalent in more and more men, he considers the possibilities of using rogaine foam's hair growth supplement to attempt to grow back his hair, but he knows that his hair will never be the same beautiful locks he used to have. Until then, he accepts his balding fate and continues training his students.

Thanks Mike for the awesome drawing idea! If you want to see your drawing realized comment below, and I'll do my best to draw it for you. If you want to keep your request a secret, feel free to email me at mspaintatwork@gmail.com! Until next time. - Sarah

Mama Llama, The Saved by the Bell gang, and Unicorn Love

Mama Llama without the Drama

Many of you know that I have been a babysitter for a very long time. The requester of this image happens to be the mom of the two cutest boys in the world, Cole and Blake. I have been babysitting them since the youngest of the two, Blake, was only about 6 months old, and he'll be starting kindergarten next year! *sobs internally* Elizabeth, Cole and Blake's  mommy, requested a drawing of a Mama Llama and her two baby boy llamas. I had so much fun drawing this image for them, and I know Elizabeth, Cole, and Blake will absolutely adore it! I am so thankful to have such  a wonderful family to spend time with and I am dreading the day when they are too old for a babysitter. Elizabeth is obviously the full grown mama llama, Cole is the llama with a ring around his eye because he wears glasses, and Blake is the smallest llama with the lighter fur. Thanks for the request Elizabeth!

The Saved by the Bell Gang

Now, I know what many of you are thinking, "That isn't what Saved by the Bell is like at all!" I know, but I've never watched Saved by the Bell, so I figured rather than spending countless moments researching Saved by the Bell and what each individual character looks like, it was easier to draw some super hero bells saving the day from unsuspecting gang members! This wonderful drawing was requested by Reddit user DickTank. The main reason I didn't want to draw the cast from Saved by the Bell is that people are really hard to draw, and I have many requests coming up involving real life people and I would like to be able to do everyone justice. I hope you enjoy your drawing DickTank!

Unicorn in Love with a Keebler Elf

Lastly, this image was requested by Imgur user Thingamajiggly. He had originally requested a unicorn and keebler elf making love, but I do not enjoy drawing sexually explicit images. Luckily, he and I both agreed that the two creatures would be best to be depicted in love rather than the latter, for the sake of my readers. Thank being said, I hope you can really see the love between the elf and the unicorn. They're truly a match made in heaven! All of the other woodland creatures are jealous of the perfect relationship between these two. Thank you Thingamagiggly for the request!

Final Announcement!

You may have noticed some new material on the side and bottom of this blog post. My blog has been approved by Google Ad Sense to host ads so now I can make a little bit of money from my blog! That being said, I am very new to using Ad Sense and I have heard of people having issues with ads playing sound, displaying sexual/inappropriate content, or advertisements for malware. If you see an ad with any of these things, please send me a URL of the ad, and a screen shot, so that I can add it to my list of blocked ads. I want my readers to enjoy reading my blog in peace, and noisy ads take away from the reading experience. Thanks everyone and don't forget to send me your requests!

A Classy Bear, Windmill Tilting, and Equestrians!

First, the class bear

Nick requested this fabulously classy bear to be drawn sitting in a chair. What better way to draw him than enjoying high tea in his tea chair after a long day of being classy? This bear is a retired circus actor named Beary Basselton. He retired when the circus asked him to start working with the clowns. Though the clowns were very respectful clowns, and Beary appreciated their skill set, he did not see himself as a clown and regretfully retired from his post. However, he enjoys his retirement for beautiful days like today because he can watch the day go by while enjoy the wilderness and his tea.

Drawing Beary was extremely difficult, but I feel like I handled it well. Nick had such a fabulous suggestion, I couldn't help but enjoy drawing such a high caliber masterpiece. I would love to spend more time delving into the artistic styles of Beary, but I have two other drawings to talk about!

My first request from Imgur

Imgur is an image hosting website that was created for reddit. It has it's own community that is open, kind, and accepting, much like the reddit community. I have been browsing imgur consistently for about two years, and it provides a lot of entertainment at the end of the day to wind down, and look at some funny/happy/sad/inspiring images before I go to bed. Much like I did with reddit, I called upon imgur for drawing requests, and the people of imgur happily responded! I received about 12 requests from imgur, which isn't as much as what I was given by reddit, but I don't have a specific place to post it on imgur. With hundreds of images being uploaded every minute, its easy for a picture to get lost in the crowd, but over 12 people responded with requests and I would like to finally feature one of them on the blog this afternoon.

Imgur user Thealmightyhandofsweetmothermary requested his stuffed animals Mortimer and Tony the Tiger to be tilting windmills. Many of you might recognize the reference from the book Don Quixote when the honorable Don Quixote mistakes windmills for giants and attempts to fall them. Though the meaning behind the phrase "tilting windmills" has changed, I decided to keep with the original interpretation of the phrase. Thank you Thealmightyhandofsweetmothermary for the great request. I love your stuffed animals, Mortimer and Tony, because they remind me of my very own stuffed bear, Mr. Fuzzums.

Reddit Request of the Day

Because I have received so many requests from reddit, I've decided to post one reddit drawing every time I'm update my blog. It's only fair, we don't want to keep the reddit users waiting for a post. The reddit user waitn2drive requested this image of a horse riding a human! I thought it was a very interesting draw. The miniature-miniature horse would never enjoy the happiness that is having a rider, so he decided it would be fun to try and ride a human to see if the experience would be similar.  He was thrilled and his human was happy to satisfy his pet's curiosity. Thank you for the request waitn2drive, I hope you enjoy it!
